Neediness

One can walk in close fellowship with the Lord, using all one’s gifts and abilities to name things correctly for others, while at the same time, possessing deep and abiding unmet needs.

Such needs and longings cannot be answered by any previous or present experience, status or attainment.  It is a Dark­ness of Unknowing, for all you know is what you don’t need!

It Is Not A Sin To Need

Adam’s condition demonstrates to all of us that to ‘need,’ even to ‘need deeply,’ is not necessarily to ‘sin.’  Adam was not rebuked by God because God’s direct presence wasn’t enough.  God created him that way!  God even allowed Adam to live for a season with a felt sense of his unmet long­ings.  Nothing he ate, drank or named afforded Adam any relief from his deepest hunger.
